Slovenia is lovely! We are staying in Portoroz and walked to Piran this afternoon. The weather is gorgeous and the scenery is beautiful. I’d like to spend more time here but we have to go to Italy tomorrow to get on our Greek isles & Turkey cruise. This is the last day I’ll have free [...]
Adrian Kavanagh, 16 May 2011 Despite our good result on Saturday night, there has again been some disgruntlement at the impact of what is perceived to be bloc voting, but actually amounts to a combination of geographical (or classic “friends and neighbours”) voting and diaspora voting. Analysis I did on televoting patterns by different Eurovision countries [...]

Finally, the Eurovision Song Contest Chose Its Favor – El and Nikki!
The Grand Final began from an amazing show and the song Satellite, which was chosen to be the best last year. Lena performed it with her producer and presenter Stefan Raab. This Eurovision is thought to be one of the most creative, because songs [...]

23.28 Someone’s just tweeted that there are only 58 hotels listed on TripAdvisor for the whole of Azerbaijan. Eurovision’s just taken on a whole new post-Soviet dimension… Goodnight all!

BELARUSSIAN President Alexander Lukashenko has accused Western powers of rejecting the country's entry to the Eurovision Song Contest - titled I love Belarus - for political reasons.
Belarus's entry to the famously cheesy song contest was voted out by viewers of the second semi-final on Thursday, in which 19 contestants competed for 10 places in Saturday's [...]
No one's performance in the Second Semi-Final caught the breath. There were energetic and vigorous shows, but the Eurovision Song Contest seemed to be as perfect as Alexander Rybak's or Lena's show.
Tonight we will watch the second Semi-Final of the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest.
Participants from the following 19 countries take part: Austria, Belgium, Belarus, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, FYR Macedonia, Ireland, Israel, Latvia, Moldova, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, The Netherlands, Ukraine.

Today the EBU (the European Broadcasting Union) has decided when the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 the semi-finals and the final will be. The final is set on the 26th May 2012, the first and the second semi-finals – respectively on 22nd and 24th of May 2012.
Where the next Eurovision 2012 will take place is a [...]
The venue was busy, considering it was the first semi-final (it has been quiet in previous years, and this wasn’t exactly the most competitive of semi-finals)… Big story of the night for me – how great was Iceland last night! I am man enough to say that I actually teared-up during the song – it [...]
Adrian Kavanagh, 11 May 2011 It’s the day after the first Eurovision semi final and a number of the stronger countries over the past decade have failed to make it to the final, most notably Armenia and Turkey, but also Norway, Portugal, Albania and Croatia. The die was probably cast for Armenia and Turkey some [...]
It’s not just the Contest that is hotting up. The weather has been a scorcher. Moving around the two cities, and between the press centre and the arena, you can feel the heat. Upwards of 29/30 degrees today. Luckily, the press centre is well ventilated – otherwise there would be blood, sweat and tears both [...]
Greetings from Dusseldorf! Well, actually it’s greetings from Dusseldorf and Cologne… Dusseldorf does not have the capacity to cope with the thousands of people that have flooded into the area for the event. And also, we’re not willing to pay *hundreds* of euros each per night for a room in Dusseldorf. So as a result [...]
